The Best Patrol Pageant Ever

You may wonder what exactly was going through Shell’s corporate head when the below set of images was julienned and then baked together. Well, due to my overactive tendency to totally misread everything, it’s my theory that this casserole of plucky industry, hellfire and couture fashioning was intended as a promotional poster for a never-to-be-made musical called “SHELL!”.

If the fubar fable of ENRON can be the subject of a song and dance number – yes, click here and oh my, click here– then why not an Oil giant? I mean, the epic proportions of the BP tragedy coupled with the political intrigue and implied dark-dealings just scream “Shakespeare”!
And upon further “re(youtube)search” I find that Shell has certainly inspired stranger creative activity:
And anyway I don’t think a Fosse pelvic-sachet would be out of order in that silky oil-can get-up.
