Some families like lamb on their Eid al Adha, we like a little camel.
I have to admit I blanched a little when I went into the kitchen this morning and found ‘S’ carving this large boney leg wrapped in plastic tarp.
Upon closer inspection I ascertained it was a camel (a baby-naga (girl-camel) leg to be exact) that was being prepared.
It was a kindly gift from a family my aunt had helped through the hospital’s beaurocratic process.
Meat is precious. We had it in delicious kepsa for lunch. I did not pick my teeth with the bones although my 3 year old cousin tried sucking the marrow…x Happy Eid!
