About She

Sophia Al-Maria is a Qatarican*  suffering from delusions of grandeur.

You can find her writing in Bidoun, Triple Canopy and once even in Harper’s Magazine.

Her first book The Girl Who Fell to Earth (Harper Collins) was published in 2012 and was published in Arabic with a translation by Ziad Ziady in 2015 by Bloomsbury Qatar as بين الارض والسماء (Between the Earth and Sky). 

So far her greatest achievement is getting hyperlinked on LIFE  standing next to Robert De Niro explaining how to get a Nissan Patrol up on two wheels.  It’s all downhill from here.
